The Theotokos in ...............

The Theotokos is the name that the Church gave to The Virgin Mary sometime in the first two centuries. The name means “Birth giver of God”.
She alone has that title. There has never been another human being like her on the face of the planet. No one can say that God has physically dwelt within them except her. She was so united to the will of God that her faith became a place where God could dwell. The Early Church dismissed as heresy any teaching she was just a conduit or “pipe” that was used by God. How disrespectful that is.. She is the ultimate representative of salvation by faith demonstrated by her words and life. She stands at the forfront of the Church and represents the greatest of all saints. She stands as a model of human will bowing to divine will and being united to God.
All creation can truly rejoice because of her.
The term Theotokos teaches us the understanding of not only who she is, but also, who Christ is........the Incarnate God.
The Church has said that she gave birth to God as we know Him(God Incarnate) not to the deity in respect to eternity.
We in the Orthodox Church offer her the respect and dignity due to the Birth giver of God.
In simple terms, to disrespect Her is to disrespect her Son.
She is not a co-Savior,
but participates in...... and invites us to participate in Christ salvation.
